On the other hand, if you intend to work close to the desk, you can fold both arms up and work flush with the desk. When the arms are folded, there will need to be sufficient clearance for the arm at the back of the desk.
Unlike many standing desk products, the Ergotron WorkFit-LX sit-stand desk mount system can be pushed right out of your way to completely free up your desk to complete important tasks (or maybe you might feel like having a nap on the table hehe).
Monitors
This desk converter offers you the ability to hold a single large monitor. With many people now opting for one large monitor as opposed to 2 regular-sized monitors, this unit would be particularly advantageous for them as many standing desk converters don’t accommodate monitors much greater than 30 inches.

What I love about this product is…
It’s surprising how personalized you can make your work station. Whether it’s the ability to pan the screen 180 degrees or adjust it within an impressive 360 degrees rotation. In addition, you can also tilt the screen 75 degrees (70 degrees up and 5 degrees down).
I would be rather particular with how my monitors are set up, so these features are one of the highlights for me. Additionally, it’s imperative that a standing desk converter can adjust to cater to ensure you can achieve a neutral posture. The ability to rotate, lower and raise the monitors to endless degrees should be more than satisfactory at enabling you to achieve an optimal posture and newfound levels of comfort.
These can also be valuable features if you tend to present to people on your screen; it’ll be a breeze when you can simply swivel your arm around to them instead of them leaning over the table to view your screen. Plus, picture how impressed your colleagues and friends will be when they see this sturdy piece of kit!
Tip: The stability of the monitors is relative to the stability of the desk it is mounted to. If there is any bounce or wobble on the table, it will be transferred to the monitor arm.
Keyboard
Since the keyboard tray is not surrounded by any walls or work surfaces, there’s no risk of feeling cramped or hitting off anything. The keyboard surface is thankfully pretty spacious too with 18.3 x 8.9 inches / 46 x 23 cm of area. This offers you ample room to fit a full-sized keyboard in a centered position.
The keyboard is angled with a 5 degrees back-tilt to promote a neutral wrist position. This should also enhance your comfort and productivity while you type! As well as that, it features a 90 degree upward folding option, which is convenient for saving space when it is being stored.
Mouse
The mouse tray is independent to the keyboard tray and offers a comfortable 8 x 8 inches / 20 x 20 cm of space. The mouse tray simply slides out and can be pushed back in again to save space. You also have the option of choosing whether the mouse tray is positioned on the left or right side of the keyboard. So, no need for left-handed people to worry about this.
Cable management
A welcome feature of the mounting arm is the cable management system. All the necessary cables can be looped from your monitor and keyboard through the monitor arm; these are conveniently secured in place with the cable ties supplied by Ergotron. Well, I am impressed! The Ergotron WorkFit-LX sit-stand desk mount system is a premier product, that is also attractive, ergonomic and reliable; it also achieves an all time high in terms of motion precision.
As I mentioned above, I love how customisable it is. With this product, I have complete control to personalise my work space and position my keyboard and monitor exactly where I need or desire!
The sizeable height range of this monitor makes it an ideal product for anyone, and tall people need not worry either. The cable management feature is also valuable, especially if you hate cable clutter.
This is definitely my favourite hover arm standing desk converter!
It should be durable, robust and configurable enough to suit anyone who intends to use this on a daily basis or even share it with family, friends or co-workers.
The degree of motion is jaw-dropping, and I could see myself having so much fun testing out the various positions. I think it would also come in particularly useful when demonstrating items to colleagues or people by simply twisting the arm towards them.
The stability of the unit while using it in a standing position is often an area of concern with these types of hover arms. However, upon reading a multitude of reviews, Ergotron have seemed to engineer out the issue of bounce or wobble. The onus is on you as the consumer to ensure that you choose a sturdy desk so that there are no instability issues introduced.
The only watch out which some people highlighted is that the step-by-step instructions were somewhat confusing to follow. However, if you follow the video I shared above, you should have no problem installing it!
